Two thoughts struck me as I started reading this morning. Trying to reason out why God allowed this to occur for so long.
    1. Manasseh was 12 years old and reigned for 55 years and did evil in the sight of the YHVH.
Why did God allow evil rulers to rule for so long? As the rulers are so go the people. Does not a righteous rule allow for righteousness to prosper in the land?
    2. Verse 4 Manasseh built alters in the house of the LORD. Verse 5 says he built them in the two courts of the house of the LORD and did all the pagan rituals and no no’s.
    3. Perhaps it was all a way to try the people of that day. Of those that would be true and those that would not.
    4. Perhaps this was a way to prepare the hearts, of the future generation, for the first coming of Yeshua. To cause such a hunger and thirst for truth that those whose heart truly yearned would recognize Him when He came.

Now I feel the context when Isaiah appears. A scary time with Iraq and Iran looking to destroy Gods people. Hope everybody is hanging in there with our goal to read the Bible in a year!

Doing a little catch up today. And….OMG!!!2Kings 16:10
A pagan alter has replaced YHVH’s Alter! In verse 14 the furniture has been rearranged and in 17 even more changes done to God’s furnishings!
If we, as God’s temple, represent the church are some of these evil changes taking place within the body today? I’ll answer for you….yes! Things went rapidly downhill for the people of Israel then and no doubt will do so for the church today!
