Recommendations for a solid concordance
My family has been ready for the use of a concordance for our studies, looking for one that gets the job done and gets it done well. I thought this might be a good place to ask for some recommendations on which we should get, looking for a analog/paper version mostly, but open to anything. Thanks!!! -Zach

I know it’s been over a year since this topic has been posted, but I just have to recommend two websites that can be useful. I recommend http://www.stepbible.org and http://www.2letterlookup.com. Stepbible provides easy access to the original languages with a concordance by simply clicking on a word and 2letterlookup allows you to look up Hebrew, Aramaic, Greek, Latin, etc words along with many excellent concordances. I hope you and any one else who reads this comment will find these websites useful.

I use the book “The Analytical Hebrew and Chaldee Lexicon” by Davidson and I have the HALOT as part of the Bibleworks program. The beauty of the AHCL was that it lists all Hebrew words in the Tanak, gives an analysis of stem, person, number, gender, etc. and then gives the ROOT. It has been off a few times, but getting to the root of the word you are trying to understand, especially when new to the grammar of Hebrew, was very helpful for me. My biblical Hebrew teacher recommended the HALOT for it being the most up to date and accurate in his opinion compared to other lexicons.

Brown Driver Briggs Lexicon is good but you need to either know Hebrew letters or have a way to obtain the assigned number so you can look up words in it. It is pretty thorough, though. I use it a lot.
I only know of the Strong’s for an actual concordance. I use Strong’s, BDB, and online sources such as Blue Letter Bible. BLB was put together by numerous Christians I believe so certain things need to be carefully examined against other sources. It should not be solely relied upon in my opinion. BLB uses Strong’s for it’s concordance.
I don’t know if any of them are perfect, in all honesty. Cross referencing and looking up in more than one Lexicon is the way I study.
Good question, though! I hope others here can offer further information so I can find other good resources, too.
