The four promises of redemption
What are the four promises of redemption found in todays reading of Exodus chapters 5-6? Here is a hint: They correspond to the 4 cups of wine used at a traditional Passover seder.

Exodus (Shemot) 6:6-7
Therefore, say to the children of Israel, ‘I am the Lord, and I will take you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians, and I will save you from their labor, and I will redeem you with an outstretched arm and with great judgments.
7: And I will take you to Me as a people, and I will be a God to you, and you will know that I am the Lord your God, Who has brought you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians.

You said no Bible software or Google… But is it cheating if The Israel Bible gives me the answer… Including even a fifth expression of redemption that hasn’t been completely fulfilled yet! I won’t give an answer since I already saw it in The Israel Bible but can I point out one I think they missed? Chapter 6 verse 7 says “I will be your God and you shall know that I, Yehovah, am your God…” If this isn’t an expression of redemption I don’t know what is. Oh that we would be redeemed from the false idols of this world and KNOW THAT YEHOVAH IS OUR GOD!

Rob, I say if you can find in the Israel Bible then go for it! As our featured text, it is fair game!!

Having been to a Seder… The 10 ‘drops’ of wine don’t seem to have a meaning toward the redemption question, but rather remembering the 10 plagues.. However, the only thing in these two chapters as far as redemption is in Exodus 6:6-8
