    I like the way you articulated that, “an annoyance of interpretation”. I too find myself annoyed by the interpretations.

    Examples from my readings are places in some translations that use “treaty” in place of the word “covenant” when interpreting Israel’s arrangements with other countries. I often feel like the “translators” are trying to minimize the responsibility of Israel when they break covenants with these various nations.

    My biggest gripe, though is the translation of Torah as “Law” or worse “law” so that we can’t even see the difference between God’s “Instruction” and man-made laws. “Instruction” is such a better translation and helps us understand that our Father in Heaven was not simply giving us a set of rules to follow, but guidance in our relationships with Him, our fellow man, and even the animals, earth and heavens.
