This is the first time I have heard of Jesus speaking multiple languages. This fits exactly with my experience in Vanuatu where each person spoke at least the Custom language, Pidgin and English or French (they were then taught French or English) plus they would also have a knowledge of the custom languages of adjacent tribes. The speaking of many languages (and not just knowing Hebrew as a ‘religious’ language) sounds exactly right.

Hello Paulette. I’m glad to hear that it makes sense to you that Jesus spoke multiple languages. Jews speaking Hebrew and Aramaic in Second Temple times are attested to in Jewish sources. For example, the Babylonian Talmud, Shabbat 12b:2 (you can read it here https://www.sefaria.org/Shabbat.12b.2?ven=William_Davidson_Edition_-_English&lang=bi&with=all&lang2=en ) records how a Rabbi would go out pray for the sick in Hebrew and Aramaic when the sick person didn’t understand Hebrew. This documents the bilingual nature of many Jews at the time.
