  • I think that I’m confused. First, blessings to all who brought us this prophet reading. Thank you Nehemia and Keith!!! I am glad this reading was told because it is a great reminder about vowing foolishly. However, my thinking is that a vow would be rendered null and void if it goes against God’s Laws such as sacrificing people, therefore, God would never accept such a vow and/ or sacrifice. Am I right or wrong about this?

  • Very interesting thoughts on the wholeJephthah story. I have to agree with keith that there was spiritual mixing going on when that vow was made. Either he was a fool or a spiritual mixer. I think he was leaving it up to fate, hoping God would provide the sacrifice like abraham’s story, but i think YHVH specifically let it go down like it did because of Jephthah’s foolish/fearfull/wreckless vow. Now we all get to learn from it. My wife thinks he wasn’t offering up his daughter in an ambiguous way, but rather vowing out of desperation. Either way, the story makes much more sense to us after having listened to this exellent prophet pearls episode. Great job, As always. YHVH bless you both and keep you in the palm o His hand.
