  • It struck out to me that everytime in these passages they talk of God they call him Elohim. In the Israel Bible they use HaShem everytime it says Elohim. I find that odd , that name was used in the place of God because YHVH was not used in those sentences. So with it never speaking YHVH’s name here, is it because of all the different gods the Egyptians worshiped and Yosef was just saying my God is the greatest God? Did Yosef know God’s proper name? And did the Israel Bible say HaShem just to let the readers know which God was being spoken of? What are your thoughts?
