Irony in Israel
Yehudah Glick Ascends to a Seat in the Israeli Government!

I thank Him for all He has done for me until today.”
“I am exiting from here. I do not know when I will return. Whatever I will do I pray to remember that it all begins from here, and from Shalom which this place symbolizes, Shalom which is His name. All I will do shall be for the sake of His land His people. The roots of it all is Jerusalem, city of Shalom. I hope to contribute to the world more light, good blessing, prosperity, and shalom.
This place is the origin of the light and prosperity of the world. Leaving here in the true Name of God, praying that in His name I will have success. I thank Him for all He has done for me until today. This is the origin of my power. Thank you all.” (Translated by MK Rabbi Yehudah Glick)
Irony: a state of affairs or an event that seems deliberately contrary to what one would expect.
I find it ironic that, after fighting to gain control of the city of Jerusalem, Moshe Dayan, former defense minister of Israel, gave religious oversight of the Temple Mount to the Islamic authorities—including the right to declare who may pray on that holy site.
According to Israeli law, the Temple Mount is under Israeli sovereignty. Therefore, I also find it ironic that, despite countless acts of aggression and violence against peaceful non-Muslim visitors to the Mount, the present Israeli government remains committed to maintaining the “status quo” of that arrangement.
Now, the present defense minister, Moshe Ya’alon, has left the Knesset, making way for Rabbi Yehudah Glick to fill his vacated seat. Rabbi Glick is the founder of the Temple Mount Heritage Foundation. He has committed his life—literally—to bringing religious freedom back to the Mount. But this unexpected turn of events heightens the irony of the situation since Rabbi Glick, as a member of the Knesset, is now banned from entering the very place he is trying to open up for people of all faiths. The day before he was sworn in to his new government seat he made one final visit to the Temple Mount . . . for now . . . and gave a stirring message.

..but then he was not appointed Defence Minister – so what does that mean?
That we wait longer for the Messiah to save Israel? That Yehudah’s red hair does not mean he is family of king David? We can only speculate. But Yehudah does stand out as a person upon whom YHVH’s eyes rests with kindness, that is for sure. So let’s watch this space anyway..

Perhaps just a different perspective: Surely this opens up the opportunity for Yehudah to reverse his predecessor’s decision, and to get the ‘status quo’ altered? Hey, is the glass half empty, or looking full!
As a family, we wonder whether Yehudah Glick is destined to be the Messiah coming. Why not? (We think of how God anointed – meschiached – Samson ‘to begin to deliver Israel from the Philistines’. This made Samson, and all the other deliverers acting on behalf of YHVH, Messiahs!) And may it be soon that he is given the victory! He fits the position perfectly. And being appointed Minister of Defence at this crucial time, when the world prepares for the last war, and when Israel’s seventy years of independence (determined upon thy people and thy holy city according to the angel Gabriel to Daniel for the end time) come to an end: Who else should lead the Israeli armies, than the one who cares deepest for the one Holy Place on which YHVH’s eyes are set!
Will the world look upon him whom they have pierced with four bullets at close range – and mourn as for an only son? Whether you like reading this or not – watch the space reserved for Yehudah Glick on the Holy Mount!

It seems very significant that, in what is probably the last Jubilee year before Messiah comes, Yehuda Glick is elected to the Knesset. He is a firebrand for God. He lives in the past and in the future regarding his great love for the Temple Mount as a place of prayer for all nations, in the house of God. He deeply respects the way things were in the days of Solomon and he has the same enthusiasm, vision and hope for the holiness and greatness of God that will be there in the future. When Zechariah 12 and Isaiah 61 are linked together, there is so much to consider. Yehuda’s words about his respect for Abraham and what he did when he was asked to sacrifice Isaac is inspiring. Our God went beyond what He required Abraham to do and actually delivered His son to be sacrificed by evil men. The resurrection is God’s grace and mercy.

Be for sure that “the times of the Gentiles” will certainly come to an end (Dan. 2:43-44 w/ Luke 21:24 and Rev 11:1-2 to understand). However, given the consistent move for restored rituals on the Temple Mount, when those who desire it finally accomplish it…just be aware that it will come with exponential turmoil. Adam Eliyahu Berkowitz, author of the Breaking Israel News article mentioned says, “Indeed, [Glick’s] role may even have been foreseen by the Bible.” Adam, author of The Hope Merchant may be overly hopeful – a House of Prayer restored for all people (okay!) but not a house of multiple religions. This goes both ways: Judaism Islam. The twain won’t mix (Dan. 2:43).
One thing is for sure: Yehuda Glick will be a solid voice for peace in the place where Avinu put His name forever…a place and Name that Yeshua upheld…but a place and name that influential people in Israel would rather not pursue. Watch this year’s Yom Teruah that begins the 50th year anniversary of the Six Day War when the liberation of Jerusalem, Judea, and Samaria occurred — Jews in the land. Will this time be Jews on the Temple Mount? Get ready!
