Hebrew Gospel Pearls-Episode 31
Matthew 5:27-28

In Hebrew Gospel Pearls #31, Search for Yourself, Nehemia and Keith throw down the challenge to follow the Bereans by not relying on anyone’s opinion when it comes to the Word of God, to get back to the foundational instructions behind Yeshua’s teaching on adultery, and set the stage to discuss whether Yeshua came to usher in the Law of Christ against the Law of Moses.

One of the things which I would encourage us to do is to look at the root of the word in Hebrew tnaph .
I do not see in this route the concrete concept which is usually associated with the word adultery or adulteration.
Instead I see a route that is point blank translated as adultery, when in fact it can be compared with cognates which are more related to anger, snorting anger, that is the anger of a bull in its unreasonableness enraged and snorting through its nostrils! And mouth!
Why is this important? Because culturally we are imposing our idioms in our reference frame on something which I think is more powerful and more graphic.
In fact you can related and should relate it to the “anger“ of Yehovah in the day of slaughtering the kings! The anger of the one I proclaim to be Yhshua as described in Psalm 110.
This then makes sense of everything that he is saying. And the references that Nehemia draws upon to make a reasonable conclusion of translation also makes sense.
Any married man who is in this situation also relate to the extreme debilitating nature of the jealousy , The hurt and the rage that is engendered by this act of breaking the covenant between him and his wife.
There is a lot more that can be said especially in relation to how Yehovah reacts to his shredded wedding covenant with Israel!
The similar treatment can be done to the word “divorce“, which again is not in the Hebrew concrete concept . The idea of sending away is closely related to sending a person on a mission, and the bill or scroll that is written contains all the covenant shredding that has occurred for that person to be sent away!
