Dear Keith,
I was watching Tomb Time last night and had an o-oh moment of my own. It seemed to me that in the calculation of the days at the end of the film Saturday night/Sunday morning was included in the 3 day calculation. I have puzzled over this myself many times, even assuming that we are looking at 3 ½ days rather than the 3 which Yeshua told us it would be. The thing that finally brought me to my current understanding – that he was raised from the dead at the very end of the Sabbath but not seen in person until the following morning – is this.
• We know he died at around 3pm
• We know they buried him directly and he would have been in the tomb by sundown.
• So the 3 days and 3 nights in the heart of the earth must have started with a night.
• We know that the women were at the tomb so early that it was still dark.
• We know that he had risen by Sunday morning.
• So if he died on Thursday evening, and Thursday night was his first night in the tomb, with Friday and Saturday nights gives the three nights. So far, so good.
• If this is right, then the relevant 3 days would be Friday, Saturday AND Sunday in the heart of the earth – which is too long for a Sunday morning resurrection.
• On the other hand, if we work from a Wednesday death, we have
o Wednesday night and Thursday day
o Thursday night and Friday day
o Friday night and Saturday day and resurrection at between 72 hours and 75 hours after death, on the very end of the Sabbath day.
o But what about Saturday night – which was actually 1st day of the week – how could he spend that night in the tomb and still fit the pattern of Jonah?
• This is why I came to the conclusion that he must have risen at the end of the Sabbath and could not have been in the tomb for 4 nights.
What made me think that this might well be correct is that once Yeshua had risen from the dead death was actually conquered. The Sabbath is the pattern of the Kingdom. The actual final conquering of death is going to be at the end of the Kingdom and the end of the figurative Sabbath.
Although nobody saw him until the following morning I have a feeling he rose while they were all still at home keeping the weekly Sabbath.
Do you think this could be correct?

Keith,
Are you concluding that any part of a day is a day? To get three full days and three full nights, Yeshua would have had to have been placed in the tomb on Wednesday evening and arose at the same on the weekly sabbath. I’m not understanding the scriptures to state that He arose on the first day of the week. It states that He was not there when Mary went there very early on the first day of the week. I humbly appreciate your comments. Thanks.

Keith, I always enjoy your presentations. They are interesting, informative and intriguing to follow. Please tell me if I understood this correctly.
To summarize in the year Jesus was crucified:
Tues eve (beginning of week day 4)was Last supper with leavened bread
Wednesday (day 4 of week) was Day of Jesus Crucifixion as well as Prep day for Passover which was held at twilight and Jesus was placed in the tomb before Passover.
Thurs (day 5 of week) evening was beginning of 1st night and day in the tomb
Thursday was the High Holy day of the 1st day of Unleavened Bread
Fri (day 6 of the week) evening was the beginning of the 2nd night and day in the tomb
Friday was the prep day for the weekly Sabbath on the 7th day.
Sabbath (day 7 of week) evening was the beginning of the Sabbath and Jesus 3rd night and day in the tomb
Sun (day 1 of the week) evening was the beginning of the 4th day Jesus would have been in the tomb, but Jesus was already risen when Mary and the other women came to anoint him early in the morning while it was still dark.
This is how Jesus fulfilled the prophecy of Jonah who was in the whale for three nights and three days.
