A Deep-Dive Bible Study Into The Book of Jonah-Episode 6

“The One and Only True God”

In this episode, titled the One and Only True God, Keith begins with the concept of “accountability.” He then proceeds to explain that the Hebrew text of this verse reveals that the captain of the ship urged Jonah to intercede with the one true God so that He would take note of their plight and they would not perish.

He concludes by asking, “How far do you believe that your God will intervene in your life’s circumstances?”

    Israel has been prophet chosen by God as gift for this world but he sleep even deep sleep.
    God use pagan to wake up Jews to get up to do their prophet jobs.
    Even Jews here seems not responsible for their duty.
    The verse evoked bad comments of readers for Jonah. But still remember no matter pagan or Jews, they are in a same boat.
    Thanks for letting me notice the pagan’s waking up.
    It seems like the same patten with Jesus times untill now.
    So, as Israel responsible for prophet, as gentile, I am responsible for waking up.
    By asking questions and learning Bible from jews: hey hey hey we same boat，hurry to help us understand our true and only God!

    Just amazing, I really hope that you will go to the end with the book of Jonah. This is eye and ear opening – when I hear the Hebrew, and the explenation and the all of little details that are lost in translation, i get the chills all over my body!
